Tilburg in Motion is a donation-based dance festival held in public space. Since its first two editions, it has brought dancers, makers, and audiences from Tilburg and across Europe together in one open space for movement.

The programme spans a wide range of dance styles — from contemporary to street and club styles, couple dance, and many more — reflecting the full spectrum of what dance can be and highlighting the diversity of the local dance scene. Created by dancers for dancers and for anyone curious about movement. The festival invites people not only to watch, but to participate through workshops, battles, and open discussions about dance. Taking place in the heart of Tilburg, Tilburg in Motion makes dance visible and financially accessible to all ages and backgrounds, creating room for artistic exchange, new encounters, and shared experiences.

The festival embodies the vision that dance is for everyone. The platform is a way for us to connect people by bringing various perspectives and the importance of sharing and joyfully being together while simultaneously inspiring further creativity and promoting encounters which can change perspectives. Tilburg in Motion brings this vision to life by inviting people to move, share, and explore through dance, showcasing Tilburg’s local dance scene, and fostering exchange between artists and audiences. In this way, it makes the transformative, and uniting power of dance accessible to all, creating connections that go beyond the festival days.

Over the past year Tilburg in Motion has been collaborating with local partners, including DansBrabant, Fontys Academy of the Arts, and LocHal (including LocHal 1st Floor). Together with these partnerships, Tilburg in Motion continues to strengthen and expand dance within Tilburg.
